Five Ways to Decode a New Word

1. Use picture clues (if available)
2. Sound it out
3. Divide and conquer (look for word chunks)
4. Read to sentence end (see if rest of sentence provides enough clues to help decode new word)
5. Take best try, or skip it for now, or ask for help
