Today the angels
Breathed a sigh
And sang a heav’nly
Lullaby.

Today the shepherds
Knelt in joy
Beside the cradle
Of the boy.

Today the mother
Shed a tear
Of love and hope for
Her sweet dear.

Today the father
Smiled with pride
Upon the babe born
This Yuletide.

Today the whole world
Gained her king
Amid a dance of
Angel wings.
