Reviews In Kitty Kerplunking: Preposition
Fun, Reeg teaches children, in a light
and fun way, the uses of prepositions.
How does she do this? With the help of
one very cute Kitty and his antics about
the house. Each page features an engaging,
colorful illustration and a sentence
showing a preposition. For instance... Mayra Calvani Preppy the kitty in KITTY KERPLUNKING: PREPOSITION FUN is a huge success with the OASIS tutors. They have loved reading your story to their students and engaging them in language play using prepositions. Each page provides a rich visual and literacy experience for the students in a fun and lighthearted manner. Thank you for providing the instructional materials at the back of the book. These extension activities help to solidify appropriate practice for using prepositions. The study guide helps tutors understand the proper use of prepositions and how to interject them into student writing. I look forward to hearing more from the tutors and their experiences with the book. I also look forward to future books from one of Missouri’s new authors. Tamara Rhomberg Kitty Kerplunking is not only a fun picture book for early readers, but a fun way for them to begin to understand grammar. In the story you follow Preppy the kitty through the house as she shows you how prepositions are used in front of a noun in a sentence. At the end of the book there are puzzles and games to help reinforce finding prepositions and the proper use in grammar. Kids will delight in reading this book over and over again so they can help Preppy the kitty find prepositions in the world around them. VS Grenier Kitty Kerplunking was the first book in the "Pet Grammar Parade" series. This one is written in much the same style as Doggie Day Care, with the emphasis on prepositions. Again, prepositions are explained at the beginning of the book, and throughout the story they are highlighted in ALL CAPS for easy identification. The book concludes with 6 fun preposition activities to complete, a short study guide, more ideas for exploring prepositions, and the ever-handy answer key! The pictures in Doggie Day Camp are more whimsical and fun, while the ones in Kitty Kerplunking are more of a watercolor look. Two different illustrators, both with different perspectives and styles, but both lots of fun. Heidi Print and Color
